Three Years

Like I mentioned yesterday, today marks three years since I created Ma Vie Cherie - my personal blog about my darling life (hence, the name) ;) Looking back at the posts (which honestly takes me forever), I see that yes, life has definitely taken me on a ride in my late 20's. I have been through some changes - some have challenged me, some have broken me, and others have made me feel great happiness. But overall, it's been a great learning experience. Learning about myself, my likes, dislikes, desires, goals... all have come alive and I am so happy to have shared them here.
I've also met some pretty amazing people through this blog - people from other states and even some from other countries. It's funny because sometimes when I think about it, I realize that I probably have more "online" friends than I do "real life" friends. lol. "Real life" friends. That kinda cracks me up. haha. But seriously, I have met some amazing people through blogging -- some that I have had the pleasure of meeting in person as well. Like this past weekend when I finally got to hang out with Reni (post about my Oregon trip coming soon!)
So, like always, I like to reflect. Reflecting on the past three years, these are some of the things, or better yet, lessons that I have taken with me during my growing pains.

1. You need to love yourself and dedicate time to yourself.
2. Sometimes people come into your life for a short period of time only and that's OK.
3. Friendship is a lot harder to maintain than most people think.
4. Love comes from out of nowhere and when you least expect it so it's important to stop looking for it and just let it find you.
5. As you grow older, you realize that the things you absolutely love to do change and the things you thought you'd never enjoy become your favorite.
6. Traveling expands your mind and soul in so many ways.
7. Heartbreaks can many times be the most important feeling you experience as it leads you to a better, more empowered you.
8. Without perseverance, you can't expect much of anything to change.
9. You could never have too many dreams.
10. There are certain things in life that you just can't control and that you just need to let it be.
