Thanksgiving 2013

I had such an amazing Thanksgiving this year.... like it was soooo good. I hosted my first Thanksgiving in my new home that, although a bit stressful, was so much fun! Julito stayed over the night before (he's been spending a lot of time with me lately and I am so thankful for that) and we baked our desserts for Thanksgiving. Julito made chocolate covered pretzels and I made these pumpkin pie in a jar desserts. Amazing doesn't even describe just how good these came out. mmmm.....

I set up my table simply but I really liked how it came out. I was also so happy when I found that gorgeous (and super adorable) butter dish at Home Goods, which by the way, has totally become my favorite store ever! I have been able to find such great deals there on lovely little things for my home <3

My guests were my mom, nephew, and Julio. It was just the four of us but I loved it that way. It was intimate and nice. PLUS that meant there would be a whole lot of left over food ;)
Before dinner, we did something a little different from the norm. We used my little chalkboard and wrote down all the things that we are thankful for. It was so cute to see what each person would add :) My mom couldn't believe I wrote down I was thankful for my kitties but um... I am? So what's the big deal?!

We are thankful for: family, kitties, health, food, school, teachers, work, Jack, life, aunt, cars, Lobi, and my mom wrote "for having a doctor in the family". Not going to lie, that one really got to me because my mom doesn't really ever tell me she is proud of my schooling. I guess that was her way of saying it? I'll take that!  (keep in mind all these are the words of all of us...)

All in all, it was a great Thanksgiving and it was so nice to have such a great time in my new home with my little family. Today they are of to Orlando to visit Universal Studios and I decided to stay because I have so much homework to do but I am content <3
