People that know me well know that I have a very bad memory -- like scary bad. I barely remember my high school years, let alone any other years before. But there are definitely more memories I can recall in the 90s than in the 80s, that's for sure.
So for today's writing challenge, I have chosen to share what the 90s means to me. I have been literally thinking so hard of something that I find worthy enough to document (more like a story) and while I think everything we experience in life has its purpose, there are some stories that are better left alone. No need to relive traumatizing experiences, right? So instead, it's better to just share a few things -my most fondest memories, I guess you could say- of what it was like for me growing up in the 90s.
{terrible hair-dos with lots of teasing, slouchy socks and multiple on at the same time, cassettes, buying my first CD (No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom), sunbathing in my backyard where there was no pool with my best friend and some teen bop magazines, writing on my Jansport with a white out pen, rewinding Wutang songs repeatedly that I had recorded from the radio so I could catch the lyrics, write them down, and practice them for hours, arguing with people about 2Pac vs Biggie - west side vs, east side, tetris, sleepovers with best friends and when in high school buying some nasty Arbor Mist so we can say we were "drinking" when in fact we would take a sip and leave the rest there to throw away later, going to school dances and feeling awkward, "raving" in high school but being completely sober while doing it, glitter face gel (wtf was that all about?), glitter polish ALL THE TIME, Tweety wardrobe, piercing my ears like a million times, prank calls, beepers} just to name a few...
