Cuba - Part 5

~12/29/2011~

The weather was pretty cool this day and because of this, I didn't feel as tired at the end of the day. We went to la Habana vieja again and visited the Cathedral. Afterwards, we finally went to la Bodeguita del Medio. Finally! I was dying to go there. It was pretty cool to be there and I left my little mark on the wall <3

this lady literally scared the crap out of me when I first saw her! look at the size of her cigar!!

I wanted to buy a couple of those paintings but it would've been nearly impossible for me to be able to bring them back undamaged :(

Later, we went to la calle Obispo where we did a little shopping. Then we took the car and drove by el Paseo del Prado which is basiclaly a pretty walkway known for a romantic walk for couples.

Paseo del Prado

After, we went to Cuba's Chinatown because my sister wanted to buy Chinese food. lol. Yes, Chinese food in Cuba. ha ha. The cook was a true Chinese man who knew ZERO Spanish. I imagine it's difficult for him to get things done in Cuba. My sister bought shrimp fried rice and honey chicken.

After buying the food, we saw a Churros cart so OF COURSE I had to buy some churros!! I was sad to discover that while they're good, I like the ones in Miami better "/

We went back to see the John Lennon statue since it was still day time and now my mom was with us, and we discovered that John Lennon had his glasses on now! yay! It was also nice to take some photos in the sunlight as opposed to in the dark.

From there, we went to Submarino Amarillo since they were open now. It was packed in there but awesome!!! They were playing all kinds of Beatles music. But the live band wasn't going to be playing till nighttime so we missed that, sadly. I SO wish we had a place like this in Miami.

We also went to el Hotel Nacional which is the most luxurious hotel in Havana. It costs about $450 [American] per night. It's gorgeous though and right by the water.

From there, we went to Hotel Riviera which is also a very nice hotel right by el Malecon.

My last day in Cuba. I hopped on a plane (alone) towards Miami on the 30th. My family stayed till the 1st. It was a foggy morning.
